En hommage à Iannis Xenakis
Cette pièce est composée de 16 cellules autonomes dont l’ordre d’apparition est calculé statistiquement au moment de l’interprétation. Quelques variables sont figées (date de naissance et de mort de Xenakis), d’autres prennent en compte des paramètres physique du moment et apportent la partie aléatoire du calcul.
L’une des cellules ne comprend qu’un long silence de 7 secondes qui constitue l’hommage à Xenakis.
Les traitements numériques du jeu de la harpe dépendent eux aussi de ce calcul préalable.
L’image fortement chargée du passé de cet instrument est passionnante à confronter avec des modes de jeu, un langage et des traitements contemporains ( comme Xenakis l’a fait avec le clavecin).

As a tribute to Iannis Xenakis
The piece comprises 16 independent cells which appear in a sequence statistically calculated at the moment of its interpretation. Some variables are fixed (date of birth and death of Xenakis), others take account of the physical parameters of the moment and provide the random part of the calculation.
One cell consists only of a long silence of 7 seconds which constitutes the tribute to Xenakis.
The digital processing of the harp performance also depends on the prior calculation.
It is very exciting to confront the highly charged image of the past of the instrument with a contemporary language, processes and way of playing (as Xenakis did with the harpsichord).
